Early Morning paddles
Get fit, have fun and relax on a fantastic early morning paddle

There are currently 2 places available but you would need to join before Tuesday, Aug 26th.

If you would like to join please let me know ASAP and I can run a special catch-up session for you to cover the instructional session before our first real paddle on Tuesday, Aug 26th

The Before Work paddles are a 6 week series of paddles where we meet on the same day each week for a 1 hour paddle. The first session is mostly instruction and after that we aim to paddle to a different location each week. We start out with relatively short paddles and increase the distance slightly each week.

We plan to start the next 6 week series on Tuesday, August 19th - the weather forecast is good. We will be doing the routes heading west from Lavender Bay. There are now only 2 places available (8 total) and you can reserve your spot by making a payment with the PayPal link below. These will run from 6:30 am to 7:30 am. The first session is mostly instruction.

Here's an example of our paddling plan when we head west from Lavender Bay:

1) Nearly all instruction with a short paddle (1.5 km)
2) Paddle around Berry's Bay (5.5 km)
3) Paddle to Balls Head Bay and Oyster Cove (6.5 km)
4) Paddle to Gore Cove (7.0 km)
5) Paddle to Mort Bay, Balmain and Snails Bay, Birchgrove (7.6 km)
6) Paddle to Woolwich (Lane Cove River) (8.2 km)

The distances gradually increase. Sometimes we might leave a little earlier for the longer paddles so it's an easier pace.

After the first session which is mostly instruction we try to meet 10 minutes before the paddle start time so we are on the water at 6:30 am.

If you've already done the instruction on a previous series then you can skip the first instructional session and the first of your six paddles will start from the following week and we'll do an extra paddle in week 7.

I usually take pictures on each paddle and email these to everyone within a day.

We meet at Lavender Bay wharf and I have kayak storage right there. You can leave belongings in my storage (locked) if you like. There's parking nearby in Lavender Crescent. There are public toilets near the wharf.

Sorry there are no refunds if you miss a trip however if we have a spare spot on the alternate day then we'll try and fit you in if possible.

If you have any further questions or want to double check availability before booking please email Patrick.

Once you have confirmed there are still places available you can pay via PayPal or Credit Card (MasterCard or Visa) by clicking on the link below.

It is $198 per person for the 6 week series.

Please supply a mobile number if possible. Any additional details can be entered in the "Message To Natural Wanders" link on the Payment confirmation page.

I've been paddling early mornings myself through winter and it can be very cold so check out the information on the What to Wear page for some suggestions.

On series where we head east from Lavender Bay the plan is usually something like:

1) Nearly all instruction with a short paddle (1.5 km)
2) Careening Cove (5.7 km)
3) Neutral Bay (5.8 km)
4) Shell Cove (6.6 km)
5) Mosman Bay (7.8 km)
6) Bradleys Head (9.0 km)
