This is a very adventurous and spectacular trip! It's a return trip from Lavender Bay exploring the bays of the North Shore across to Mosman and back.
On weekdays you can do this as a personalised tour. On weekends I only run this for groups of experienced kayakers as it can be very choppy with boat traffic. Over the last few years the harbour has become significantly busier in the area from the harbour bridge through to Kirribilli and it can get very choppy at times. There are now at least 5 jetboat companies operating on the harbour whereas a few years ago there were none. Weekdays are usually not a problem however.
The first leg of the paddle takes us past Luna Park and under the Sydney Harbour Bridge & over the Harbour Tunnel following the northern shore. We then paddle along the Kirribilli shoreline opposite the Opera House past Admiralty House (Governor Generals residence), around Kirribilli Point past Kirribilli House (Prime Ministers residence) and the on to the Careening Cove.
We cross Neutral Bay where these is a beach we may land at and on to Shell Cove which is the home to some of Sydney's most expensive real estate. We paddle along the shore of Cremorne and explore parts of Mosman Bay before are return paddle to Lavender Bay via a more direct route.
If time permits we could land at a beach near Taronga Zoo before our return paddle.
When: On weekdays. 6:30 am to 10:00 am as a private tour (1-3 people).
On weekends. 6:30 am to 10:00 am for experienced kayakers only.
Where: We'll meet at Lavender Bay wharf.
Cost: $90/person. Photos included (emailed to you).
We'll run this on demand. For a weekend we just need a group of four people. We'll limit it to a maximum of 6 people.
